Adobe InDesign is the publishing industry's standard for multi-page layout design — used by magazine editors, book designers, marketing teams, and packaging studios worldwide. If you want to create polished print or digital publications professionally, InDesign is your tool. Our 2–3 month course covers the full production workflow from document setup and typesetting through to print-ready PDF export and interactive digital publishing. You'll complete real projects — a magazine spread, a corporate brochure, a product catalogue, and an interactive PDF.

Week 1–2 Interface, Document Setup & Master Pages

Topics: Workspace, new document dialog, margins/bleeds/columns, master pages, page panel, automatic page numbers

Project: Create a 12-page A4 document shell with master page styles

Week 3–4 Typography & Text Workflows

Topics: Character styles, paragraph styles, text threading across pages, OpenType, TOC generation, footnotes

Project: Set a 10-page feature article with full typography hierarchy

Week 5–6 Images, Graphics & Layout Design

Topics: Place & link images, text wrap, anchored objects, InDesign + Photoshop/Illustrator workflow, transparency

Project: Design a 4-page magazine spread for a travel feature

Week 7–8 Brochures, Catalogues & Multi-Column Layouts

Topics: Tri-fold & bi-fold brochure setup, catalogue grid systems, table design, large document management

Project: Design a product catalogue (16 pages) for a fashion brand

Week 9–10 Interactive PDFs & Digital Publishing

Topics: Interactive buttons, hyperlinks, bookmarks, media embeds, form fields, EPUB fixed & reflowable

Project: Convert a brochure into a fully interactive PDF with navigation

Week 11–12 Pre-press, Print Production & Portfolio

Topics: Preflight panel, package for print, PDF/X-1a and PDF/X-4 standards, printer marks, ink coverage

Project: Deliver a print-ready portfolio document meeting commercial printer specs

Course Requirements

System Requirements

Windows 10/11 or macOS 11+, min 8 GB RAM. Adobe InDesign 2024.

Prerequisites

Basic Photoshop or Illustrator knowledge is helpful but not required.

Eligibility

Age 16+, 10th pass minimum.

Time Commitment

30 classroom hours + 30 hours self-practice per month.
